Wind River Realty Asks “What’s Up Wyoming?” With Its New Alexa Skill

It’s been forty years since Wind River Realty was founded. A lot has changed since 1979 – both in the housing market and in the way we use technology.

It seems like it wasn’t all that long ago that the internet wasn’t a thing and that hardly anyone had a cell phone. Now we have voice-activated robot assistants to do our bidding. Crazy!

If you have an Amazon Echo, you know how incredibly helpful they can be.

If you don’t have one, you’re missing out! You can ask questions, tell it to turn appliances on or off, to dim the lights, play music, and just about anything else you can think of.

Given the popularity of Echos, we felt it was a good idea to develop a skill for Alexa that gets to the heart of our community while providing a little real estate information at the same time.

That’s where What’s Up Wyoming comes in…

Our Alexa skill can be found on Amazon by simply typing in “What’s Up Wyoming Alexa” in the search bar. Then just click the What’s Up Wyoming icon and enable the skill to add it to your daily flash briefing.

Then, to hear state and local news and real estate tidbits, just ask, “Alexa, what’s my flash briefing?” or “Alexa, what’s in the news?” and you’ll get that day’s What’s Up Wyoming Community Minute.

The focus of this skill is twofold: First, to bring you details about what’s going on in Fremont County and Wyoming, and second, to give you insights into local real estate issues like tips for buyers and sellers, home staging tips, home maintenance tips, and highlights on select properties that are currently for sale in our area.

The whole thing lasts about 1-2 minutes, so it’s a just quick briefing on important topics so you can stay up-to-date on what’s happening in our area and hopefully get more involved in local events as well.

At Wind River Realty, we strive to stay at the forefront of technology that allows us to communicate with our fellow community members quickly and easily. This Alexa skill allows us to do just that.
